Well here I am. Didn’t take as long as I thought. As you all know I have just been up to the Ashton Wylie Books awards. I had a good feeling about it and felt that I might win from the time I found out until a few days before the award when doubt crept in. Still I felt good about it all and knew I had already won no matter what. That turned out to be true. The night of the awards I once again passed it all over to my Higher Self that the highest good of all be served. Once there they called all the finalists to the front. There were two categories: the unpublished manuscript and the published book awards. I stood next to a really nice man who was in the manuscript category (or his book was). We talked and then they called out the finalists last first for his section and he was indeed the first called out which meant he hadn’t won the big money. As they called out his name he groaned and his disappointment was palpable. He stood there with sadness all over him. Lesson 1 for me: no matter where I come I am already a winner and will not spoil my night with disappointment. I will be grateful for gifts given. I am here for a purpose for the highest good. If that is served, all is well.
So then they started on my category.  They called out number 5. I wasn’t it. The excitement rose a bit. They called out the 4th and I wasn’t it! Anticipation now was rising in me. They called out number three. Thats me!!  I went out there knowing that I was where I needed to be, and accepted the certificate and book vouchers happily. Before I went I had asked that  it be made clear to me the reason why I needed to be there. After the awards, I got talking to a woman who represented Zenith Publishing. It came out that there may be an opportunity for them to take my book to the Frankfurt Book Fair where the whole world of publishers buy book rights. She would talk to the person in charge of that process and get back to me. I also got good feedback to help the marketing of the book. was this it? Was this why I was there apart from the honour of coming 3rd??
When I got back to the hotel, I couldn’t sleep for the stimuli. As I lay there the impact of coming third hit me. As those who know me well will attest, I work with the number three in all the ways I can. In the celtic tradition, it is known that three is the magic number. We talk about “three time lucky’, ‘third time proves it’ ‘ good ( and bad) things come in threes”. The great Welsh bard Talesin was said to be ‘thrice born’ and it is good to be ‘thrice blessed’. I know this works. I have a ‘three chances’ policy in my life, giving things a try three times before I abandon then. If a sign comes to me once I am interested, twice I sit with it and three times I act on it no matter what. My psychosynthesis course was run on this principle 3 years x 3 terms x 3 hours a night. As much as possible I try to run my life in threes (3 days practice a week). Three is the number of balance. Anything must be touching the Earth in three places to be able to balance- even the soles of our feet. The triangle is the most stable structure there is which is why Psychosynthesis has it as its logo and organising principle. So is it any wonder I CAME 3RD?. There was my sign. I knew from that moment that all was as it needed to be. I got back here and Monday received an email saying there was only one place for Frankfurt and they were waiting on confirmation from the people involved. My only chane was if they defaulted. Tuesday another email came saying they had and did I want to proceed. You bet I did. Its what the whole thing is about, so my book will be winging its way to Germany.That was lesson 2.
But of course there is a 3rd. Would have to be hey? While up in Auckland at the Pathfinders Bookshop (who kindly have my book on full display), I came across a book called “The Moses Code”. As you know I go on quiet a lot about the issue of manifesting from the Highest Good not from our ego and have an issue with the way the movie of “The Secret” is presented because one would think that having a new bike or a million dollars of a sexy girlfriend was all life was about. Well this guy was on my wavelength in his book (which is of course why I like it ). He talks about the ‘trickle down affect’ that applies to our manifesting. Now the way that this phrase is normally used is in far right economic principals espoused my Ronald Reagan and then spread through the world. But everything has a good and a bad side. The Moses Code author, James Twyman, explained it this way. Whatever we manifest on the material level will never satisfy our souls longing for connection with the Divine. Get one new car and you wont be too long before you’ll want another and feel no happier until you satisfy that need. Its the root cause of all addictions. If you keep feeds\ing yourself food when what you need is water, your need will never be satisfied. And thats what we do when we concentrate on manifesting our personal needs. If however we align ourselves with the highest good, we are acknowledging that what is good for all, includes ourselves so its a win/win situation. If we go one step further and acknowledge that WE ARE ONE then any good that we do for the whole we actually do for ourselves as well because there is no separation between us on a spiritual level. So all we have to do is keep our eye on the ball (of light), listen to what our intuitions tell us is what the Whole needs and do that. Then our own needs get met without needing to concentrate on it. It trickles down to the material level naturally and easily.So lesson 3 for me was a confirmation that when I aim at the Highest Good, I aim at being one with the Whole and just have to be in the right place at the right time to receive whats good for me. That can best be achieved by listening and watching for those signs, and when three of them come in a row- GO FOR IT!
